Straight Forward Techniques to Eat More Fiber with the Zojirushi Home Bakery Supreme

By Jennifer Petigrew

I make an effort to consume a lot of fiber. After suffering a ruptured colon, temporary colostomy in my late twenties and the lifetime diagnosis of advanced diverticula and irritable bowel syndrome, I know I should eat a lot of fiber. Most doctors will say that Americans do not eat enough fiber.

With the proliferation of packaged foods and additional additives, it can be difficult to get the recommended 25 to 50 grams of fiber a day.

Whether you are like me and have to keep an eye on your diet or you simply wish to feed your loved ones healthier foods, a way to put additional fiber to your diet is to prepare your own whole wheat bread. Traditional baking bread can take hours. You have got to buy the right flours and ingredients, add the right type of yeast at the right time, and cook the bread in the oven. Then you must knead it, wait for it to rise a couple of times, and throw it in the oven - it can take all day!

If you don't desire to waste hours in the hot kitchen with a thermometer waiting for yeast to get to the right temperature, you can still bake your own bread with a bread machine like the Zojirushi Home Bakery Supreme Bread Maker.

The Zojirushi Bread Machine bakes a normal sized two pound loaf of bread. It features the facility to regulate the kneading methodologies, yeast rising and baking time.

With this machine you read a LCD control panel to adjust the settings. And, with a 13-hour programmable timer, you can put the ingredients in before you go to bed and awaken to a freshly baked loaf of bread.

You can use regular flour in your bread machine, or you can get a gourmet mix at the store. A wide variety of bread mixes will be for sale at chain grocery stores. Usually whole grain and wheat varieties will offer more fiber, but make efforts to check the labels. One of my favorite tricks is to buy the inappropriate fiber powders from the diuretic aisle and add in 1 or 2 scoops to the mix. By adding a fiber powder, you can increase the fiber of the bread by five grams depending on the powder, which is a fifth of the daily fiber recommendation! You can also add a handful of special ingredients like oats, nuts, dried fruit, or flax seeds!

And, you can add fiber to other meals, too. The Zojirushi Home Bakery supreme can also make fresh fruit jams, cakes, or meatloaf. Fiber powder may also be added to jam, cakes and meatloaf for additional fiber.

Your guests will eat tasty meals without tasting the added fiber. And, it's as simple as adding the ingredients, setting the controls, and pressing a button.

Adding fiber to your diet doesn't need to be a hard or strenuous process. By incorporating products like the Zojirushi Home Bakery Supreme, you can easily put more fiber-rich foods in front of your family. And, with the Zojirushi Home Bakery's flexibility, eating a more healthy more healthy fiber-rich diet was never so fast!
