Birthday Cake Decorating Ideas for a Kid's Party: How to Impress Your Little One

By Maria Campbell

If you have been trying to come up with birthday cake decorating ideas, there are many options to consider. If you want to make a cake for a child' birthday, you should make sure it is unique! Kids love birthdays (mainly because of the presents) but also because of the cake and ice cream! Instead of just buying the typical cake at the store, you can create your own special cake.

The internet is full of cake decorating ideas for all kinds of themes. It does not matter if you want to make a cake for a boy or a girl, you can find all kinds of ideas and supplies needed to make just about any cake. All of the decorations can be found online!

One popular theme for young girls is the Disney Princess theme. You can decorate the cake with one Princess in mind or all of them. You can find the instructions online, along with Belle, Cinderella, Ariel, Mulan, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Jasmine and other Princess figurines.

There are lots of birthday cake decorating ideas for boys as well. Boys seem to love cakes that are themed around superheroes. Of course, Spiderman cakes are super popular as well as Batman. There are many themes to choose from when it comes to boy cakes.

You cannot go wrong by choosing cupcakes either. The wonderful thing about cupcakes is that you can make them as unique as you choose since you can individualize the decorations on them. You might make half for girls and half for boys.

One great unisex cake idea would be Looney Tunes characters. Animals are also a great theme that most children love. There are all sorts of cat, dog and other animal decorations available online.

You can even ask your kids what kind of cake or cupcakes they would like at their party. You could even invite them to assist you in making the cake. When you share a hobby with your kids, it can turn into a very fun family event. Kids love to help with cooking, and they can be proud of their creation at their own party.

You can use frosting thats already made, or you can make it yourself. Its up to you whether you want to start completely from scratch or buy some of the ingredients already prepared. Either way, youll definitely want to get all the decorations, including: stencils, food coloring, figures, sprinkles, and so forth.

This is so true! A great cake can make a kid's birthday. I made a Lightning McQueen cake for my son's second birthday and he is still talking about it months later.
